Dolce's Cat Cat Bed

I went to a little store today, like the DI but not, where you can give your old stuff to the store and such. I found a cheap cat bed there, but since my cats are allowed on my bed and anywhere else, I gave it to Dolce, just until I buy her a dog bed her size. She loves it haha. She is usually by my side, and that means on my cold, hard, tile flooring. So it made more sense to give her the bed.
You can see that the bed is upside down. She also likes chewing on the bed.
That's her a few hours later.

Silent Training Exercise

I just did another training session with Dolce, but focused on being silent. She 100% knows how to sit with a hand signal. Shake is hard and she'll do it 65% when i'm standing or sitting. Lay down she will only do if I touch the ground or almost touch the ground. But she's a fast learner. I adore her so.

Dolce's Tricks

I did a quick training session with Dolce last night and taught her "paw". My sister's 7 month old Dalmatian knows how to sit and shake and lay down yet has other problems like humping(even though she's female), peeing all over herself, and jumping on people. So I wanted to teach my girl how to give her paw and I asked her to sit and lay down for me too. She continues to only do a sit with a hand sign. She'll lay down when I touch the ground or sometimes automatically. But she'll give her paw when I ask for it. She's such a smart puppers! Learned "paw" after only 1-2 tries.

She doesn't like the camera. She wears a harness because she's a puller and i'm trying to train her not to pull. Also she always is near me, unless she's outside on her own. I'm usually at my desk working (or not working) so she's usually lying at my feet. She's a very chill dog mostly, unless she's in her zoomies mood and running circles around me, throwing her toys at me. Ah, I adore her so much!

Kittens Are Coming!

Charlie got outside 2/1/14 and she was in heat. Managed to catch her and bring her back inside but not soon enough. I feared she'd be pregnant again. I was right to worry. I felt her stomache and felt at least 2-3 tiny balls inside. I've had pregnant cats before and I feel the kittens my moving my fingers in a circular motion around her tummy area gently. This is bad. I love kittens, but last time 2 kittens died. Charlie had her second spay appointment March first, but I can't do it now. I've felt them so I know they're there. It would be like killing a human child. That's what it feels like. So i'll wait for 3 more months to spay her. Hopefully all these kittens will find good homes like the last litter. I fear i'll want to keep one and I can't...

Pic of the pretty momma

Intro Post

This is my first post so I suppose i'll introduce myself. I'm a 20-something freelance artist who loves animals. I have 3 animals currently.

Charlotte, or Charlie, is a tuxedo DSH with light green eyes. I adopted her back in April 2013 at MCAS. She had been there for 3 months and I just clicked with her. She is affectionate and loves to have her head scratched. She'll jump into my lap and loves her treats, but she isn't a lap cat per se. She'll take affection readily and will be held, but she's still a bit on the skittish side.

Daisy is my second cat. I didn't rescue her. When I adopted Charlie, she wasn't spayed. And soon she escaped outside and was mated with a siamese stray. She had a spay date but she couldn't get it because she had kittens. She had 9 kittens in total but when I found her in the laundry room the night she gave birth, 3 seemed lifeless. I took the first one, a black and white tuxedo, and cleared out her mouth and nose and rubbed her fur backwards. But it didn't make a sound. The second I put the kitten down though, it mewed. Again I wiped at it's nose and mouth and it made more mews. That tuxedo kitten survived and that kitten is Daisy. She is the sweetest kitten you could ever ask for. She loves to jump on my shoulder when the water faucet is turned on, also loves chasing anything. Her favorite time is meals. She is an odd cat as she loves her belly rubbed and she has such soft belly fur. She has the siamese cat's build and fur, but her mom's colors. She has yellow eyes instead of green.

The third animal is a dog I rescued from MCAS just a few weeks ago. She's a border collie/corgi mix with blue eyes. Estimated at 2 years of age, so she's the middle child. She is smart and knows lay down and sit. I'll pat my chest and she'll jump up and cuddle on me. I honestly already love her already. She came house trained which was a plus. She is scared of Charlie, but will chase Daisy if Daisy runs first. I keep her on a Halo food diet right now with limited treats as she has some bathroom issues right now. But it seems to be working.

You'll notice there are way more pics of Daisy then Charlie. That's because, even though Charlie is closer to my heart (i've had her the longest out of all my animals) Daisy is a total hang-out-with-you-at-the-computer-type cat. She will follow me around even though both cats usually come when called.

So those are my rescues.

Oh and btw the two lifeless kittens of Charlie's didn't make it, but the other six, plus Daisy, did. All found homes.
